Birth of Madame de Sapinaud

Jeanne-Michelle-Ambroise Talour de La Cartrie de Sapinaud de Boishuguet, a royalist memoirist whose account describes civilian experiences during the civil war in the Vendée, was born in Angers on 17 August 1736. She was one of fourteen children of Guy-Barthélemy Talour de La Cartrie and Jeanne Ollivier.
