Birth of Marquis de Bouillé
François Claude Amour, marquis de Bouillé, the royal general who helped organise Louis XVI's failed attempt in 1791 to escape Paris and reach the loyal garrison at Montmédy, was born at the Château du Cluzel on 19 November 1739, the son of Guillaume Antoine de Bouillé and Marie Albertine Josèphe Amour de Clavières de Saint-Agrève.
