Birth of Rabaut Saint-Étienne

Jean-Paul Rabaut Saint-Étienne, a Protestant pastor and deputy who argued for religious equality during the debates that produced the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, was born in Nîmes on 14 November 1743. He was the son of the Protestant pastor Paul Rabaut and Madeleine Gaidan.
