Birth of Marc-Guillaume Vadier

Marc-Guillaume-Alexis Vadier, a former magistrate who became a leading member of the Committee of General Security, the National Convention's principal policing body, was born in Pamiers on 17 July 1736. He supported proceedings against Danton's associates and later opposed Robespierre.
