Birth of Alexis Chalbos
Alexis Chalbos, a veteran general repeatedly sent against royalist insurgent forces in the Vendée in 1793, was born in Cubières in the Gévaudan on 6 March 1736. He was the son of Joseph Chalbos and Magdeleine de Mazel de Fayet, both of whom died while he was young.
