Birth of Duke of Brunswick

Charles William Ferdinand, Duke of Brunswick, the Prussian field marshal who commanded the Prussian and Austrian invasion of France in 1792, was born in Wolfenbüttel on 9 October 1735, the son of Charles I, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, and Princess Philippine Charlotte of Prussia.
